Our research project aims to create a functional face mask that can provide comfort and protection for all kinds of users. After being in a pandemic for over a year, we have noticed many common issues with currently available face masks such as availability of KN95/N95 protection and discomfort from improper fit and extended use. Our goal is to create a face mask that solves these issues can be widely available to the public, and can potentially be used by healthcare professionals where PPE is in low supply. Our research involves creating and printing 3D designs through Fusion 360 and researching skin contact safe and biocidal materials. We frequently communicate with various Foothill staff who act as consultants to provide us with the knowledge and assistance needed for our project.
